The conference will begin at 14.00 on Tuesday 1st July 2008 and will
finish at 17.00 on Thursday 3rd July 2008. Registration will
be from 12.30 on the opening day of the conference.

Important - Please Note: The ethos of the Visions of the Human project emphasises dialogue with the issues raised by the conference as a whole and engagement with the people attending the conference. These two elements are essential to the inter- and multi-disciplinary nature of the event. Over the past few years the success of our projects has rested on the continual interaction between delegates for the duration of the conference and beyond. The Steering Group feel it is essential that delegates should be present for the duration of the conference so as to facilitate the exchange of perspectives for which the conference strives, and which any publication should clearly demonstrate.

A 300 word abstract should be emailed to the Joint Organising Chairs - Owen Kelly and Rob Fisher by Friday 15th February 2008. These should be emailed either as an attachment or in the body of an email to the Joint Organising Chairs. Attachments may be in Word, WordPerfect, or RTF formats. You will be notified within 14 days of submission as to whether your proposal has been accepted for presentation.
Delegates who have their proposals accepted will submit an 8 page paper by Friday 6th June 2008; all conference abstracts and papers will be available on this web site before the conference commences.
At the conference, delegates will be given 20 minutes to speak to the main points of their paper and point to the significant themes and issues they wish to highlight and discuss further. 20 minutes is the absolute maximum time permitted for presenting. Powerpoint presentations are neither encouraged nor welcome.
Both the 300 word abstract and the draft paper will be available on this web site before the conference commences. Papers will be available in downloadable .pdf format

All papers accepted for and presented at the conference will be eligible for inclusion in an ISBN eBook published by The Inter-Disciplinary Press.
Selected papers will go forward for development into 15-20 page chapters for publication in themed ISBN hard copy volume. The book will be published by Rodopi publishers as part of the At the Interface/Probing the Boundaries series.

The conference venue is Mansfield College Oxford. Accommodation is also being offered at the College.

Mansfield College occupies one of the most attractive sites in Oxford. The 1886 buildings, which house all the College's public rooms, are regarded as amongst the finest work of the important Victorian architect, Basil Champneys. Mansfield's spacious site is close to all the libraries and shops, yet in a quiet position near to the University parks and River Cherwell.
The location of the venue can be found on the map provided in the accommodation section.
We would like to note that whilst the conference is being held at an Oxford University College, it is not being formally sponsored by the University. Please do not contact the College with questions about the conference. All inquiries about the conference should be directed to Rob Fisher.

It is the responsibility of delegates to ensure that payment is made by this date. Failure to receive payment will result in your booking being cancelled.
Alternatively, you may send payment with your signed and completed forms. This is the easiest and quickest method for ensuring a confirmed place at the conference.

There are a number of ways payment can be made.
Cheque
Payment can be made by cheque, in pounds sterling (gbp). Cheque's must be drawn against a bank with headquarters in the United Kingdom. Cheque's should be made payable to 'Inter-Disciplinary.Net' and sent, with the booking form, to:
