Conference Begins Monday 5th July 2004

The conference will commence at 2.00pm on Monday 5th July 2004 and finish at 4.30pm on Friday 9th July 2004. Registration will be from 12.00pm on the opening day of the conference. It is anticipated that no formal programme will run on the middle Wednesday of the conference in order to allow for an organised cultural programme.

Please note: the Steering Group wish to gently point to the fact that the aim of the conference is an emphasis on dialogue with the issues raised by the conference as a whole and engagement with the people attending the conference. These two elements are essential to the inter- and multi-disciplinary nature of the event. The Steering Group feel it is essential that delegates should be present for at least the majority of the conference so as to facilitate the exchange of perspectives for which the conference strives, and which any publication should clearly demonstrate.

A 300 word abstract should be emailed to the Joint Organising Chairs - Prof Peter L Twohig and Dr Robert Fisher by Monday 22nd March 2004. Abstracts may be submitted before that date. You will be notified within 10 days of submission whether your proposal has been accepted or rejected.

Delegates who have their proposals accepted will submit an 8 page paper by Friday 28th May 2004; all conference abstracts and papers will be available on this web site before the conference commences.

At the conference, delegates will be given 20 minutes to speak to the main points of their paper and point to the significant themes and issues they wish to highlight and discuss further. 20 minutes is the absolute maximum time permitted for presenting.

All papers accepted for and presented at the conference will be published as a set of conference proceedings/ reports in an ISBN eBook.

Selected papers will go forward for development into 15-20 page chapters for publication in themed ISBN hard copy volume. The book will be published by Rodopi publishers as part of the At the Interface/Probing the Boundaries series.

Editors for both the eBook and themed volume will be sought from those attending the conference.

Two themed volumes are in press from the previous meetings of this project.
