Writing: A Literary Reading

In turn ironic, droll, sad, fantastical, the literary works of French
Canada’s great physician-writer Jacques Ferron captivate and disconcert.
They offer insights into the worlds of the patient and the doctor and
constitute a rich basis from which to reflect on the connections between
literature and medicine. Betty Bednarski will read in English from the
short stories, novels and essays of this Montreal family doctor, one
of the great literary figures of 20 th-century Quebec.
