The Way Forward
The Inter-Disciplinary Press has been launched to promote and encourage the kind of work which is collaborative, innovative, imaginative, and which provides an examplar for inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary publishing.

The Press is wholly, though not necessarily exclusively, devoted to ISSN and ISBN e-publishing. Journals and publications will be available via the WWW, CD-Rom, other electronic media, as well as occasional hard copy publication. Using the latest in technology, the Press will promote conference projects, publication projects, and special research series.

There are many advantages in e-publishing, not least of which is the ability to provide ISSN and ISBN publishing to a global market, at greatly reduced costs, in a fraction of the time taken by traditional publishers. Titles will be available not just through the www, but also on CD-Rom through most traditional and e-bookshops. The primary dual formats will be Portable Document Format (.pdf) and html, with manuscripts also being available (as a later upgrade) in Microsoft Reader, Word, and WordPerfect formats.

As an inter-disciplinary project, the Press will take advantage of the immediacy offered by electronic publishing to create and sustain working communities of people engaged in sharing ideas and pursuing a plurality of perspectives in their work.
