Sensuality, Sexuality and the Erotic is an international journal committed to publishing the highest quality interdisciplinary research that explores in a creative, imaginative and critical way the intersections between desire, pleasure, danger, pathology and sensual expression. It provides a space where no single disciplinary approach or form of study is privileged, instead encouraging synergies between and across disciplines in order to better understand the relationships between identity, orientation, relationships, behaviours and acts that self-identify with or are categorised within the sensuous, the sexual and the erotic. It welcomes conceptual and empirical papers, scientifically oriented, aesthetically conceived and legally and policy constituted papers, indeed any papers from any intellectual position that seek to shed new light on sensual, sexual and erotic dimensions of the human condition. It will combine themed issues with issues to represent diverse scholarship, with only quality as the determining criteria for inclusion.
Readership
Perspectives are sought from those engaged in the fields of literature, media studies, cultural studies, history, anthropology, philosophy, psychology, sociology, health and theology. Ideas are welcomed from those involved in academic study, fictional explorations, and applied areas (e.g. youth work, criminology and medicine).
Scope
The journal is related to the work of the research and publications projects within the Transformations Hub. In addition to multiple electronic and hard copy publications, the work of the journal is supported and enhanced by an electronic discussion group and eForum. The journal warmly welcomes contributions from any one who wishes to engage in the issues and debates at the heart of this exciting and challenging project.
