Diversity within Unity
This conference project, now in its fifth year, aims to promote and explore the various complex issues and paradoxes surrounding the theme of Diversity within Unity. Launched in 1999 with an inaugural lecture by the late Professor Neal Riemer, this annual series is held in Europe, Eastern Europe, Canada, and the United States.

The project focuses on a different area related to Diversity within Unity each year. It is anticipated that the project themes will form an agenda for each conference, with each theme being explored on a rotational basis. The project attracts an exciting global audience of scholars, NGO's, professionals, voluntary sector workers, members of differing religious traditions, and other contexts.

The project is presently dealing with the following areas of concern;

1999 Prague Human Community and Civil Society
2000 Oxford Culture, Conflict & Belonging
2001   No Meeting
2002 Prague Cultures of Violence 1
2003 Oxford Cultures of Violence 2
2004 Oxford Cultures of Violence

The project is a forum to further understanding and encourage informed debate on issues relating to Diversity within Unity; it is supported by a publication programme which includes both eBook material and hard copy themed volumes. An e-mail discussion group is being created to enable to real-time sharing of insights and conversations; and an e-journal is to be launched to focus the activity of the conference series.
