Mansfield College occupies one of the most attractive sites in Oxford. The 1886 buildings, which house all the College’s public rooms, are regarded as amongst the finest work of the important Victorian architect, Basil Champneys. Mansfield’s spacious site is close to all the libraries and shops, yet in a quiet position near to the University parks and River Cherwell.
Single Rooms – £65.00 per night (bed and breakfast)
Accommodation for one person only in a single study-bedroom. Bathroom and shower facilities are shared. Breakfast is included.
Single En-Suite Rooms – £75.00 per night (bed and breakfast)
Accommodation for one person only in a single study bedroom with en-suite facilities (private bathroom and shower). Breakfast is included.
Twin Bedded Rooms – £93.00 per night (bed and breakfast)
Accommodation for 2 persons in a larger study bedroom. Breakfast is included. Twin bedded rooms are limited in the College, and none are available with en-suite facilities.
For legal and insurance reasons, the College does not allow children to have residential status.
Getting to Oxford:
If you are travelling from London Heathrow or Gatwick, The Airline coach service travels directly to Oxford: see their website for details. London Stansted airport is linked to Oxford by the National Express 757 Coach, which runs every two hours. Alternatively, a number of companies, including Oxicars and CCB Cars, offer airport transfers that you can book in advance. There is also a train from Birmingham International Airport.
If you are travelling from the airport by coach, stay on the coach to the end of the line, Gloucester Green. From Gloucester Green, you can hire a taxi for the short distance to Mansfield College. Alternatively, if you are able to walk a short distance, ask your driver for the Oxford High Street stop, from which it is a short walk.
A frequent direct service operates between Oxford and London Paddington (approximately every 30 minutes), and between Oxford and Birmingham New Street via Banbury and Coventry. Other services operate from the north via Birmingham New Street; from the South via Reading; and from the west via Didcot or Reading. For information contact National Rail Enquiries; tel: 08457 484950. From the Oxford Rail Station, you can hire a taxi directly to Mansfield College. Alternatively, numerous bus services travel from the Rail Station to the High Street, from which it is a short walk to Mansfield.
From London, the Oxford Express service (tel: 01865 785410) or the Oxford Tube service (tel: 01865 772250) operate frequent 24-hour direct journeys to Oxford. The Oxford Express service includes Victoria Coach Station, Grosvenor Gardens, Marble Arch, Baker Street/Gloucester Place and Hillingdon. The Oxford Tube service includes Grosvenor Gardens, Marble Arch, Notting Hill Gate, Shepherd’s Bush, and Hillingdon. If you are able to walk a short distance, ask your driver for the Oxford High Street stop, from which it is a short walk. Alternatively, if you have luggage or would prefer to be taken directly to the college, stay on the coach to the end of the line, Gloucester Green. From Gloucester Green, you can hire a taxi for the short distance to Mansfield College.
Parking is not available at Mansfield College, nor in close vicinity to it.
In addition, many Oxford streets are now closed to traffic, and parking in the centre of Oxford is severely limited. Therefore, visitors are strongly encouraged to use the Park and Ride bus services which operate between the city centre and parking areas on the outskirts.
