Details for Authors and Subscribers


Contributions to the journal should be original and may not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time as they are under consideration by the journal. Submissions should be made electronically wherever possible using either Microsoft Word, WordPerfect or RTF format.

~ articles should be between 4,000 – 7,000 words long
~ reflections, reports and responses should be 1,500 – 3,000 words long
~ book reviews should be between 500 and 1,500 words long

Style Sheets

All pieces accepted for inclusion in the journal will be double-blind peer reviewed.

The title page should contain the following information: author(s) name, affiliation, contact details (including e-mail address); there should be a 300 word abstract; there should be a listing of up to 10 key words to be used for indexing purposes. The body of the article is to begin on a separate page. The body of the article is to single-spaced, in 10 point font, Times New Roman preferred. The page size is to be set for A4. All articles should be in English.

In preparing an article for submission Oxford Style is preferred. A template Word document containing the correct page set-up parameters, margins, headers and headings  formats can be found here: Download Journal Template File (Word). Submissions to the journal which do ot follow this template will be returned.

It is the author’s responsibility to obtain written copyright permission for the use of any texts, pictures, images, illustrations, photographs, stills, tables or other materials cited or used within the article. Copies of these permissions are to be supplied with the submission of the article.

Sexuality, Sensuality and the Erotic is an Inter-Disciplinary Press publication. IDP’s policy is to own copyright of all contributions to the journal. Authors retain the rights to republish any material submitted to and published in the journal in other works, subject to full acknowledgement of the original source of publication.

The journal is published twice yearly. Standard subscriptions are for 2 volumes per year. Subscription rates for 2009 will be;
