Assessing Interdisciplinarity

Double blind peer review is the gold standard in most academic research assesment exercises, but research has demonstrated that this method is not only ill-suited to evaluating interdisciplinary work, it undermines truly innovative approaches. This aspect of the Interdisciplinarity Project will facilitate the development assessment strategies that ensure quality and merit without stifling innovation and disciplinary fluidity, oversee training in the use of such strategies and offer an interdisciplinary reviewing service for other publishers.
